Xiamen Yixiang Shipping Places $48 Million Order with Zhejiang Mingfei for One 5,700 TEU Container Vessel

According to the filing for the “Xiamen Yixiang Shipping Co., Ltd. New 5,700 TEU Container Ship Project,” Xiamen Yixiang Shipping Co., Ltd. has placed an order with Zhejiang Mingfei Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for one 5,700 TEU container ship, with a total investment of approximately 330 million yuan (approximately $48 million).

This 5,700 TEU container ship, designed by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), is 230 meters long and 40 meters wide. Xiamen Yixiang Shipping was established in 2023 as a privately owned shipping company with a registered capital of 68 million yuan. Its primary business operations include general cargo transportation by water; port operations; domestic vessel management; interprovincial general cargo shipping; and intraprovincial vessel transportation.

Zhejiang Mingfei Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Xinzhou Shipbuilding, is a privately-owned ship repair and construction enterprise established in October 2020. Its shipbuilding and ship repair facilities commenced operations in July 2021 and June 2022, respectively. The ship repair and construction base covers an area of 190,000 square meters and features a 450-meter-long wharf. The shipyard is equipped with two 50,000-ton slipways, two 30,000-ton slipways, and two 20,000-ton slipways, as well as gantry cranes. With a comprehensive range of shipbuilding equipment, the facility has an annual shipbuilding capacity of 300,000 deadweight tons and is capable of repairing vessels up to 15,000 deadweight tons.
