On October 23, Dalian Shipbuilding Offshore Co., Ltd. (DSOC) held a naming ceremony for the AJ46-2 jack-up living platform. Representatives from Van Es Holding and Jack-up Barge, along with delegates from ABS, DSOC’s shareholders, various partners, and the project team, attended the ceremony. The unit was officially named “JB 121.”

The JB 121 jack-up accommodation platform operates at water depths exceeding 350 feet, has a capacity of 354 people, and is equipped with a 200-ton main crane. The platform is based on the AJ46-360-C model developed by GustoMSC, a world-renowned offshore engineering design firm. It features a triangular hull structure, three triangular truss-type legs, and a V-shaped living quarters area.

The living quarters are equipped with comprehensive facilities—including a cinema, game room, gym, sauna, café, smoking room, billiard room, table tennis room, and private living units—fully capable of meeting the accommodation and diverse lifestyle needs of offshore personnel under moderate sea conditions. The platform is well-suited for a wide range of offshore operations, such as the development of offshore renewable energy, the decommissioning and removal of marine infrastructure, and the construction of offshore facilities, offering exceptional operational reliability and environmental adaptability.
The JB 121 jack-up living platform is a follow-on project, and its successful naming marks a new milestone in the collaboration between Jack-up Barge and Dachuan Marine Engineering. The platform will subsequently be deployed overseas to provide stable and reliable accommodation for personnel working on various offshore engineering projects.
