On October 20, CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited (COMEC) issued an announcement disclosing new orders. For the first three quarters of 2026 (ending September 30, 2026), COMEC secured new orders totaling 35.799 billion yuan (approximately $5.359 billion), reaching 217.97% of its annual target.
According to the operational plan disclosed in its 2025 annual report, COMEC had set an annual contract-acquisition target of 16.424 billion yuan (approximately $2.459 billion) for 2026. The data indicates that the volume of orders secured in the first three quarters has significantly exceeded this annual goal.

The announcement revealed that COMEC’s voluntary disclosure of new orders primarily includes construction contracts for various types of container ships, such as 1,900 TEU, 3,000 TEU, 5,300 TEU, and 6,400 TEU vessels.
COMEC stated that these orders were obtained as part of its routine business operations. The fulfillment of these contracts is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s cash flow and future operating performance. Container ships represent a core product for the company, and all counterparties involved possess strong reputations and a solid capacity to fulfill its contractual obligations.
Based on data from COMEC’s interim report, the company secured new orders totaling 20.165 billion yuan (approximately $3.019 billion) in the first half of the year, achieving 122.8% of its annual target, and received orders for a total of 55 new vessels across 8 vessel types. Based on these figures, COMEC secured new orders exceeding 15 billion yuan in the third quarter alone.
COMEC’s core operations are divided into three main segments: defense, marine/offshore, and emerging industries. Its product portfolio includes defense equipment—such as naval vessels, coast guard assets, and government service ships—as well as marine and offshore products, including feeder container ships, bulk carriers, small-to-medium-sized gas carriers, dredgers, offshore engineering platforms, and wind turbine installation vessels. The company also engages in emerging business areas, such as energy equipment and industrial internet platforms. There were no significant changes to COMEC’s primary business activities during the reporting period.
