On October 23, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), signed another contract with a leading European shipowner for the construction of four 3,700-TEU container ships.

This project marks CSSC Chengxi Shipyard’s latest container ship construction order following its previous orders for 910 RFEU and 3,100 TEU vessels, marking a new milestone for the company in the feeder container ship sector and further diversifying its order book.
CSSC Chengxi Shipyard stated that the 3,700 TEU container ship is a new-generation, highly efficient, and eco-friendly feeder container ship that offers excellent performance, safety, reliability, and environmental friendliness. Key technical parameters—such as cargo capacity, deadweight, and fuel consumption—offer significant advantages over comparable vessels; carbon emissions are well below the International Maritime Organization’s EEDI requirements, nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions meet Tier III standards, and the vessel fully complies with sulfur oxide (SOx) emission regulations.
This order further expands CSSC Chengxi Shipyard’s product portfolio of feeder container ships and continues to enhance the company’s competitiveness in the market for green, high-end vessels.
