Recently, Hengli Heavy Industries reached shipbuilding agreements with several internationally renowned container shipping lines to construct a total of 52 ultra-large dual-fuel container ships. The order comprises three primary vessel types: 20 ships with a capacity of 19,000 TEU, 12 ships of 22,000 TEU, and 20 ships of 24,000 TEU.

This batch of vessels will feature an eco-friendly LNG dual-fuel design, ensuring compliance with the latest international environmental regulations and delivering a significant reduction in carbon emissions per container. Leveraging Hengli Heavy Industries’ mature expertise in constructing ultra-large container ships and its comprehensive, integrated supply chain, these vessels will be equipped with LNG dual-fuel main engines and LNG fuel tanks—all developed and manufactured in-house by Hengli Heavy Industries. By further strengthening its partnerships with major liner companies, Hengli Heavy Industries is actively contributing to the green transition of global trunk-route shipping.
Last week, two LNG dual-fuel 21,000 TEU ultra-large container ships, independently designed and built by Hengli Heavy Industries, were successfully launched. With both vessels laid down, assembled, and undocked in the same dock, Hengli Heavy Industries has once again demonstrated “Hengli speed” in the dual-fuel ultra-large container ship segment.
