Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has completed the sale of its final jack-up drilling rig, marking its transition into an operator focused exclusively on deepwater and harsh-environment drilling operations.
Ocean Oilfield has recently finalized the acquisition of the Noble Resolve, renaming it the “Ocean MVM”. The rig arrived in Malta on October 13, 2026, and is currently being marketed for deployment globally, subject to contractual arrangements and operational requirements.
In December 2025, Noble announced the sale of six jack-up drilling rigs, including the Ocean MVM, which was sold to Ocean Oilfield for $64 million. The transaction is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, following the expiration of the Ocean MVM’s existing contract.
The Ocean MVM is a GustoMSC CJ50-X100 MC-type jack-up drilling rig, a design noted for its high structural efficiency, optimized safety footprint, and reliable performance in demanding offshore environments and severe weather conditions.
