On June 16, New Times Shipbuilding held a naming ceremony for a 299,500 DWT LNG dual-fuel Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC). The vessel was officially named “MOUNT VISION” and was ordered by Norwegian shipowner Tor Olav Trøim.

The “MOUNT VISION”, named on this occasion, is the 21st vessel jointly built by the two parties. At the naming ceremony, Tor Olav Trøim emphasized that New Times Shipbuilding will have the right of first refusal for all future new ship orders.

The vessel has an overall length of 332.95 meters, a beam of 60 meters, a depth of 29.60 meters, a design draft of 20.50 meters, and a structural draft of 21.70 meters. It is equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion technology, offering both environmental benefits and operational efficiency. Next, the vessel will enter the sea trial and commissioning phase, steadily progressing toward the goal of on-time delivery.
The “MOUNT VISION” is the first vessel in a series of VLCCs built by New Times Shipbuilding in collaboration with Tor Olav Trøim, and marks the third shipbuilding project between the two parties. From the previously delivered 208,000 DWT conventionally powered bulk carriers to the “Himalaya” series of 210,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel bulk carriers, and on to the “Andes” series of VLCCs contracted in 2023, New Times Shipbuilding has already delivered 20 vessels to the owner ahead of schedule.
