The list of Greek shipowners commissioning new shipbuilding projects with the private Chinese shipbuilder Hengli Heavy Industries continues to grow; a low-profile Greek owner has reportedly ordered a new vessel from the yard.
Shipbuilding data indicates that the Greek shipowner Liquimar Tankers currently has one 113,500 DWT Aframax/LR2 tanker under construction at Hengli Heavy Industries; named Priamos, the vessel is scheduled for delivery in September 2026.

In recent years, Liquimar Tankers has been virtually absent from the tanker newbuilding market; data from Clarksons indicates that the company last took delivery of a newbuild in 2011—fifteen years ago.
According to the company’s official website and shipping data platforms, Liquimar Tankers currently operates five tankers—M/T AFRODITI, M/T ORPHEAS, M/T EVRIDIKI, M/T IASONAS, and M/T AMFITRITI—built between 2007 and 2011, comprising three Suezmax tankers and two Aframax tankers.
Liquimar Tankers was established in 1990 when its parent company and containership operator, Dioryx Maritime, expanded into the tanker sector. Dioryx Maritime currently operates seven containerships built between 2008 and 2012.
It comes as no surprise that news has emerged regarding a new shipbuilding collaboration between a Greek shipowner and Hengli Heavy Industries. Since commencing full-scale production in 2023, Hengli Heavy Industries has partnered with several leading Greek shipping companies, securing a succession of orders for tankers, containerships, bulk carriers, and gas carriers.
