On August 4, Malaysian offshore contractor Vantris Energy (formerly Sapura Energy) announced that its engineering and construction division and drilling business unit had secured contracts with a combined value of approximately US$202.78 million, covering offshore transportation and installation works as well as cantilever tender rig services.
In the engineering and construction sector, VTEB Offshore Sdn Bhd—an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Vantris (formerly known as Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd)—has received a formal work order from Petronas Carigali under an existing contract; the relevant work commenced in the second quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027.
On January 7, 2026, Vantris, through its subsidiary Sapura Offshore, signed an offshore transportation and installation contract with Petronas Carigali valued at approximately US$345 million.
In its drilling division, Vantris received a work order from Petronas Carigali to deploy the “Sapura Esperanza”—a tender-assist drilling rig built in 2013—under an existing drilling services contract. Operations are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2027.
Additionally, the company secured a new contract from Vestigo Petroleum to provide tender-assist drilling services using the “Sapura Jaya”, a rig built in 2011. This project is also scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
Vantris stated that these new orders have raised the company’s total order book value to over US$1.47 billion.
