On April 14, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS) held a naming ceremony for the 309,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel VLCC it is building for a foreign shipowner. The vessel was named the “HIMALAYASAN.”
The “HIMALAYASAN” integrates highly intelligent configurations, advanced energy-saving technologies, and a high-efficiency propulsion system, fully meeting the demands of global shipping operations and green, low-carbon development, and achieving internationally advanced standards in terms of economy, environmental performance, and safety.
The vessel’s dual-fuel main engine and environmental protection systems significantly reduce carbon emissions, sulfur oxides, and particulate matter, meeting the International Maritime Organization’s most stringent emission standards. This supports the shipowner’s green operations and provides robust support for the global shipping industry’s transition to low-carbon practices.
