Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Hands Over “Oceann Inspration” to Sinochem Oil

On October 15, China’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding delivered the 174,000 cbm large LNG carrier “Oceann Inspration” for Sinochem Oil, achieving the delivery of two vessels in three days.

The “Oceann Inspration” is the first vessel built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding for Sinochem Oil. Developed and designed independently by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, the vessel has an overall length of 295 meters, a beam of 45 meters, a depth of 26.25 meters, and a rated speed of 19.5 knots. It is classed by both the China Classification Society (CCS) and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

It is reported that Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding actively responded to the national call to advance the self-reliance and controllability of key core equipment and materials. The vessel pioneered the use of domestically produced core cryogenic system equipment, including LNG cryogenic butterfly valves and cryogenic expansion joints. Additionally, it introduced a novel synergistic propulsion architecture combining a domestically manufactured propeller with a domestically produced SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system. This innovation effectively reduces overall energy consumption while further increasing the vessel’s domestic production rate.

Hudong-Zhonghua firmly practices the principle of “Chinese vessels built in China”, always serves the national energy development strategy, and contributes Chinese wisdom to the world’s energy transformation.
