CSSC Chengxi Cuts Steel for Independently Developed 82,000 DWT Bulk Carrier

On October 15, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), successfully held a steel cutting ceremony for an 82,000 DWT bulk carrier in the “Blue Whale” series independently developed for W Marine at its headquarters.

It is reported that this vessel is the 20th new ship started by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard this year.

With an overall length of 229.00 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 20.20 meters, and a design draft of 12.20 meters, the vessel is designed for a service speed of 14.0 knots. Its economic efficiency, environmental performance, and safety standards all meet internationally leading levels.
