On October 10, China’s CSSC Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group commenced construction of the second 14,000 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker for EP Carriers Pte Ltd. This milestone signifies the deepening of high-end shipbuilding cooperation between the two parties and underscores Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group’s continued expansion in the stainless steel chemical tanker market.
This vessel follows the high-standard positioning of the first vessel and was designed by the Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC) of CSSC. It has an overall length of 129 meters, a beam of 22 meters, a depth of 11.5 meters, a designed draft of 8.5 meters and a speed of 12.8 knots, with the capability to operate in unlimited navigation areas.
The vessel adopts a single-propeller, single-diesel engine propulsion system and is equipped with 6 pairs of cargo oil tanks, 2 slop tanks, 6 pairs of ballast water tanks and 2 technical fresh water tanks. It innovatively applies the “single tank, single pump, single system” design and is equipped with 12 independent cargo oil pipelines. While ensuring the safety and compatibility of chemical transportation, it fully meets the international shipping market’s demand for efficient and environmentally friendly equipment.
The vessel is classed by ABS, excels in power and environmental performance, and strictly complies with international standards, providing a more reliable solution for global chemical transportation.
