Ningbo Ocean Shipping Releases 2025 H1 Report

On August 21, Ningbo Ocean Shipping released its 2025 Semi-annual Report.

The report disclosed that Ningbo Ocean Shipping’s operating income in the first half of 2025 was approximately 1.157 billion yuan (approximately US$161 million), an increase of 11.33% year-on-year; the net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was a loss of approximately 39 million yuan (approximately US$544 million); and the basic earnings per share was a loss of 0.0325 yuan.

As of the end of the reporting period, Ningbo Ocean Shipping owned 29 vessels with a total capacity of 1.504 million deadweight tons, including:

  • 28 bulk carriers (including 1 bareboat chartered vessel) with a total capacity of 1.492 million DWT: 26 handysize bulk carriers with a total DWT of 1.09 million DWT; 3 Panamax bulk carriers with a total DWT of 226,000 DWT; and 1 Capesize vessel with a total DWT of 176,000 DWT.
  • 1 product oil tanker with a capacity of 12,000 DWT was leased out on a bareboat charter basis in April 2025 for a period of 10 years.

During the reporting period, Ningbo Ocean Shipping completed a cargo volume of 25.2128 million tons, an increase of 16.90% over the same period last year; the turnover volume was 69.513 billion ton-kilometers, an increase of 28.63% over the same period last year; the water transport business revenue was 927.2199 million yuan, an increase of 15.17% over the same period last year; the toll road operation business revenue was 223.0701 million yuan, a decrease of 3.48% over the same period last year.
