CIMC SOE Begins Construction on New 20,000m³ LNG Bunkering Vessel for Avenir LNG

On July 21, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “CIMC SOE”) held a steel-cutting ceremony for another 20,000 cubic meter LNG transport and bunkering vessel (Hull number: S1123) built for Avenir LNG Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Avenir LNG”).

This is the second time CIMC SOE has received a new shipbuilding order from a shipowner after successfully delivering four vessels to Avenir LNG, marking the continued deepening of cooperation between the two parties.

It is understood that the 20,000 cubic meter LNG transport and bunkering vessel is one of the main ship types for global LNG transport and bunkering. This vessel has a total length of 160 meters, a beam of 25 meters and a designed speed of 15.5 knots.

The vessel is not only equipped with a WINGD dual-fuel main engine with iCER technology, but can also be equipped with an optional high-voltage shore power system in the future, which can significantly reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions during the life cycle of the vessel, and effectively respond to the increasingly stringent environmental protection demands of the global shipping industry.
