According to China Merchants Group electronic Procurement&Bidding platform news, on October 15, China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. issued a procurement project announcement “renewal of the construction of four 7,800-car methanol dual-fuel-powered ro-ro vessels”, the procurement method for “single source”.
China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. is participating in this bidding program as an invited supplier.
As early as the end of March this year, the two parties have reached the cooperation. China Merchants Ship announced that through its wholly-owned subsidiary and related party China Merchants Industry signed the “Ship Ordering Agreement”, ordering the construction of two 9,300-car methanol dual-fuel ro-ro vessels, the payments totaling less than $192 million dollars. Meanwhile, the two parts signed four 9,000-car methanol dual-fuel ro-ro vessels of new energy, with a option agreement for four option vessels, the payment for each ship is less than $96 million dollars.
