Shanghai Chuangwei Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the lifting of a 1,200-ton gantry crane for the green new-energy vessel and high-end offshore engineering equipment manufacturing and repair base project of Jiangsu Hantong Changyang Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Hantong Changyang).

This gantry crane features a span of 207.5 meters, a total weight of 5,600 tons, and a clearance height of 85 meters beneath the girder. As the project is not yet fully completed, a series of subsequent tasks will be carried out, including structural fine-tuning, installation of connecting components, construction of auxiliary structures, comprehensive testing and commissioning, and load acceptance.
Previously, on February 20, 2025, the Hantong Green New Energy Vessel and High-end Offshore Engineering Equipment Manufacturing and Repair Base project was signed and established in Qidong; one day later (February 21, 2025), Jiangsu Hantong Changyang Intelligent Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was incorporated with a registered capital of 1 billion yuan, wholly owned by Jiangsu Hantong Group; and on August 18, 2026, Hantong Changyang officially commenced production.
This shipbuilding and repair base is located in the East Port Area of the enclosed harbor basin within the Lüsi Port Economic Development Zone in Qidong, Nantong, Jiangsu Province. With a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan, the project occupies a planned area of 747 mu and features a building area of approximately 155,000 square meters. Supporting facilities include an 80,000-ton class offshore engineering dry dock and an 80,000-ton class outfitting wharf. Upon full completion, the project will focus on the R&D, design, and construction of high-value-added vessels—such as 22,000 TEU dual-fuel container ships and VLCCs—as well as the manufacturing of various types of large-scale, high-end new energy offshore engineering equipment.
