Greek shipowner Alassia NewShips Management has launched a new fleet renewal program, bringing its orderbook to six vessels.
Fleet data from the company’s official website indicates that it has ordered three 64,000 DWT Ultramax bulk carriers from an unnamed shipyard, with all three scheduled for delivery in 2029.
With the announcement of three new shipbuilding projects, Alassia currently holds orders for six bulk carriers. The other three vessels comprise one 40,000 DWT bulk carrier being built by Naikai Zosen (Japan) and two 64,000 DWT vessels being constructed by Imabari Shipbuilding (Japan) and Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS), respectively; all three of these vessels with disclosed shipyard details are scheduled for delivery in 2027.
According to its official website, Alassia currently manages a fleet of 16 bulk carriers (including vessels under construction), ranging in size from Handymax to Kamsarmax. The shipowner is actively pursuing fleet renewal, primarily through newbuild orders while simultaneously selling older vessels on the secondhand market.
Alassia focuses on building energy-efficient vessels, primarily constructed by Japanese shipyards, with the aim of creating vessels that are more energy-efficient and fully compliant with the latest International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements.
