On June 22, CSSC Jiangnan Shipyard and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) jointly launched the construction of the first 95,000 m³ Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) in the series for JALDHI OVERSEAS PTE LTD (JALDHI).

This vessel is a derivative of Jiangnan Shipyard’s independently developed and designed fourth-generation VLGC premium ship type—the 93,000 m³ ultra-large liquid ammonia carrier (Panda 93A). It is equipped with two 1,000 m³ deck tanks, bringing the ship’s total cargo capacity to 95,000 m³. This vessel type is currently the world’s largest liquid ammonia carrier. Not only is it the preferred choice for long-distance transport of green ammonia, but it can also carry liquefied petroleum gases such as propane and butane at full capacity.

With an overall length of 230.0 meters, this vessel features a new-generation low-drag hull form developed entirely through independent research and development, enabling it to deliver outstanding and balanced performance under full-load, ballast, and various liquid cargo loading conditions with different specific gravities. The engine room is equipped with proven LPG dual-fuel main engines and shaft generators to meet current carbon emission requirements.
It is understood that Jiangnan Shipyard and JALDHI first partnered on August 14, 2024, when the two parties signed a contract for the construction of two 93,000-cubic-meter VLACs and a memorandum of understanding for a project to replicate two VLACs. In 2025, JALDHI placed an additional order with Jiangnan Shipyard for two 93,000 m³ VLACs, bringing the total number of confirmed orders under the partnership to four.
