On June 12, Yangfan Group and Zhejiang Yonghang Shipping formally signed a contract for the construction of 4+2 64,500 DWT bulk carriers.

Yangfan Group stated that the 64,500 DWT bulk carrier covered by this contract was designed by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), is classed by the China Classification Society, and flies the Chinese national flag. It has a total length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a draft of 18.9 meters, and a structural draft of 13.5 meters.
The vessel is powered by a MAN 6S50ME-C10.7 (Tier III HP SCR & EEC) main engine and has a design speed of 13.5 knots. This vessel type offers excellent overall performance and meets the latest environmental emission standards; with a range of 22,000 nautical miles, it is capable of serving a variety of route requirements.
This is the second major shipbuilding contract announced by Yangfan Group in recent weeks.
On May 27, Yangfan Group and Baozhou (Hong Kong) Shipping Co., Ltd. officially signed a contract for the construction of 2+2 2700TEU container ships. The construction contract was signed by Zhejiang Tenglong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yangfan Group.
According to Yangfan Group’s official website, the shipyard was founded in 1952 and has over 70 years of shipbuilding history. In August 2006, it was acquired by Beijing Jianlong Heavy Industry Group, becoming a business segment under Jianlong Group. Yangfan Group’s shipyards include Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with an annual shipbuilding capacity of 1.5 million deadweight tons.
