Yangfan Group Inks 2+2 2700TEU Container Ship Newbuilding Deal with Hong Kong Shipowner

On May 27, Yangfan Group and Baozhou (Hong Kong) Shipping Co., Ltd. officially signed a contract for the construction of 2+2 2700TEU container ships. The construction contract was signed by Zhejiang Tenglong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yangfan Group.

This type of container ship is 188.8 meters long, 32.2 meters wide, and 17.1 meters deep, with a design draft of 9.5 meters, a speed of approximately 19.15 knots, a range of approximately 17,000 nautical miles, and is classed by Bureau Veritas (French). It is equipped with a bow thruster, SCR denitrification system to meet Tier III emission standards, and has a crew of 26 with complete living facilities.

It is understood that East Coast Shipbuilding is equipped with a medium-sized dry dock and an outfitting wharf, and has the capacity to build various types of ships under 100,000 tons. Its main products include large and medium-sized PCTC, large and medium-sized container ships, large and medium-sized bulk carriers, small and medium-sized chemical tankers, handysize multi-purpose vessels, ultra-low temperature tuna fishing boats, deep-sea fishing vessels, and small and medium-sized tugboats.

According to Yangfan Group’s official website, the shipyard was founded in 1952 and has over 70 years of shipbuilding history. In August 2006, it was acquired by Beijing Jianlong Heavy Industry Group, becoming a business segment under Jianlong Group. Yangfan Group’s shipyards include Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with an annual shipbuilding capacity of 1.5 million deadweight tons.

Zhejiang Tenglong Shipbuilding formerly known as Zhejiang Tenglong Shipyard, is located in Songmen Town, Wenling City, covering an area of ​​170 mu (approximately 11.3 hectares) and with a coastline of 450 meters. The shipyard has 12 gantry cranes (3 x 200-ton units) and three 40,000-ton slipways. Tenglong Shipbuilding’s products cover various bulk carriers ranging from 5,000T to 35,000T, engineering dredging vessels, deck barges, asphalt carriers, LPG carriers, and ocean-going tuna carriers. It previously built China’s first liquid sulfur carrier and currently has an annual shipbuilding capacity of 100,000 tons.
