Danish tanker owner Rederiet MH Simonsen is continuing its fleet renewal program and has recently placed an order with Türkiye’s Ada shipyard for two 3,500 DWT ice-class tankers.

According to reports, the new vessel features a diesel-electric propulsion system specifically engineered for polar environments, enhancing the shipowner’s operational flexibility in Arctic waters where ice-class vessels are frequently required.
Data shows that Rederiet MH Simonsen is a family-owned shipping company established in 1931. It currently operates over 10 tankers with deadweight capacities ranging from 2,000 to 7,000 tons. The fleet primarily serves the European small tanker market, transporting vegetable oils, fats, molasses, ethanol, and fertilizer-related products. Some vessels also engage in trade within Arctic waters.
