On February 5, the main structure of Dock No. 4 at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) officially received its completion acceptance certificate, marking a significant milestone in the construction of this critical infrastructure project.

The project has successfully passed the quality assessment conducted by the Zhejiang Provincial Transportation Engineering Management Center and convened a completion acceptance meeting. Following on-site inspections, document reviews, and technical inquiries by participating entities, the meeting unanimously confirmed that the project meets quality standards and complies with design specifications and regulatory requirements, thereby successfully passing the completion acceptance.
Dock No. 4 represents a crucial infrastructure investment by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) to optimize its production capacity layout and secure long-term development. Designed for vessels up to 300,000 DWT, the dock’s main structure measures 430 meters in length, 120 meters in width, and 15.2 meters in depth, with a total floor area of 51,600 square meters. Upon commissioning, the facility will primarily undertake repair and construction projects for new energy vessels as well as high-tech, high-performance, and high-value-added ships. This initiative will significantly advance the company’s green and low-carbon transformation while enhancing its competitiveness in the global market.

The project integrated intelligent and green systems during its construction phase, deeply integrating advanced technologies such as 5G+AR and remote inspection. It is dedicated to building a fully digitalized production and operation platform, aiming to establish a benchmark for intelligent shipyards within the COSCO Shipping Group.
COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) stated that this delivery acceptance marks a crucial step toward the project’s full-scale operation, laying a solid foundation for subsequent phases including cofferdam removal, dock gate installation and port opening.
Upon full operation, the project will further optimize COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan)’s production layout of “3 dry docks, 2 slipways, and 9 berths,” systematically enhancing overall repair and construction capabilities alongside resource allocation efficiency. This development not only injects new momentum into the company’s growth but also makes a positive contribution to the local marine economy and industrial advancement.
