On December 10, Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC) held a steel cutting ceremony for “Zhenhua 39”, the second 50,000 DWT heavy-lift deck carrier independently invested and constructed by the group. This milestone marks China’s entry into a new phase of large-scale construction for high-end heavy-lift marine equipment.

The 50,000 DWT heavy-lift deck carrier “Zhenhua 39” commenced construction just 54 days after the ground breaking of its predecessor “Zhenhua 38”. This marks another achievement in ZPMC’s implementation of its integrated development model featuring “independent design, independent construction, and independent operation”.
Sharing core technical specifications with the Zhenhua 38, the vessel measures 217 meters in length and 43 meters in width, with a deck area equivalent to 22 standard basketball courts. Capable of carrying up to 50,000 tons, it boasts exceptional deck load-bearing capacity and cargo stability. This enables it to undertake global transportation of various oversized, over-width, and overweight heavy equipment, including large turbine jackets, offshore platform modules, and giant bridge structures.

The rapid commencement of construction on the “Zhenhua 39” vessel not only fully validates the mature design and advanced technology of the first vessel built, but also represents a crucial step in ZPMC Group’s deep implementation of its integrated “design-build-operate” full-industry chain strategy. It efficiently connects R&D and intelligent manufacturing with market operations, enabling the Group to provide customers with “one-stop” solutions from high-end equipment manufacturing to global professional transportation, greatly enhancing its core competitiveness and service resilience in the global heavy-lift logistics market.
In the future, with the successive completion of a series of vessels represented by “Zhenhua 38” and “Zhenhua 39”, ZPMC Group will achieve a major upgrade of its fleet, which will more effectively support the construction of mega-projects such as offshore wind power and cross-sea bridges, promote the development of the global heavy-lift transportation industry, and continue to make ZPMC’s contribution to the implementation of the national strategy of building a maritime power and the “Belt and Road” initiative.
