Hanwha Ocean recently announced that it has delivered the 174,000 m³ liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier “Woodside Barumbara” to Greek shipping company GasLog.

The “Woodside Barrumbara” delivered this time belongs to the four 174,000 m³ LNG carriers that Hanwha Ocean’s predecessor, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, signed with Gaslog in December 2021. The first vessel, “GasLog Italy”, was delivered in the third quarter of 2024.

The vessel measures 294.9 meters in overall length, 46.4 meters in beam, and boasts a cargo hold capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. It is equipped with multiple high-efficiency energy-saving technologies, including P-2S ME-GI engines, two shaft generators, an air lubrication system, and a complete re-liquefaction system.

The Woodside Barrumbara will be operated under a long-term charter agreement by Australian energy company Woodside and will serve as a core vessel supporting the commissioning of Woodside’s $12.5 billion Scarborough Energy Project.

In September this year, Hanwha Ocean announced the signing of a contract with a North American shipping company for one new LNG carrier. Industry sources disclosed that the shipowner is Gaslog, marking another collaboration between the two parties since 2021.
