Shandong Shipping and CPGC Deepen Cooperation on World’s First Multi-Fuel Main Engine
Shandong Shipping and CSSC Power (Group) Corporation Ltd. (CPGC) signed a letter of intent for the X82DF-E fuel oil/methanol/ethanol multi-fuel main engine order.
The X82DF-E fuel oil/methanol/ethanol multi-fuel main engine ordered under this letter of intent is the world’s first of its kind. It offers advantages including high versatility, advanced intelligence, superior thermal efficiency, green and low-carbon operation and exceptional reliability.
The main engine, built by CSSC-MES Diesel under CPGC, is intended for Shandong Shipping’s ten 325,000 DWT multi-fuel (fuel oil/methanol/ethanol) powered VLOC vessels. The finalization of the X82DF-E multi-fuel main engine order will inject new momentum into Shandong Marine Group’s efforts to build a high-end, green, self-reliant, digital, and intelligent fleet. This development holds significant importance for actively advancing the adoption of low-carbon and zero-carbon fuel vessels.
Shandong Shipping, SMDERI, and China Classification Society jointly launched the construction of the “Green Shipping Digital Energy Efficiency Management Platform”.
Shandong Shipping signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement on the Green Shipping Digital Intelligence Energy Efficiency Management Platform with Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine Research institute (SMDERI) and the China Classification Society.
The “Green Shipping Digital & Intelligent Energy Efficiency Management Platform” will give full play to the core strengths of all parties in shipping services, financial insurance, energy conservation and emission reduction, data intelligence, as well as ship survey and certification. It will further deepen academic exchanges and technological cooperation, adopt the dual-drive model of “digital-intelligent empowerment plus low-carbon and high-efficiency”, set a new benchmark for green and intelligent shipping, and contribute to the vigorous development of China’s shipping industry.
