On November 10, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Dalian) officially broke ground for the 5th and 6th vessels (Hull Nos.: N1261/N1262) of the 80,000 DWT multi-purpose grain carrier series built for COSCO SHIPPING Development.
This vessel type centers on “cargo adaptability innovation”, featuring an open-top box-shaped cargo hold design that enables efficient transportation of grain, wind power equipment, high-speed trains and large machinery.
The vessels demonstrate outstanding performance in environmental protection and intelligent operation: equipped with high-pressure SCR systems, desulfurization units, and shore power interfaces, their energy efficiency metrics surpass international benchmarks. Leveraging a digital twin platform, they enable real-time data monitoring and energy optimization.
