On November 11, Sumec Marine, in collaboration with its subsidiary New Dayang Shipbuilding, renewed a contract with long-standing Greek shipowner JME for the construction of a CRWON63 bulk carrier (Version 3.0). The signing ceremony was conducted via video conference linking Nanjing and Athens.

The CROWN63 series bulk carriers, as New Dayang Shipbuilding’s flagship product, have been highly favored by ULTRAMAX owners. To date, 147 vessels have been successfully delivered, with over 60 additional vessels in hand.
JME has a long-standing relationship with New Dayang Shipbuilding. Between 2013 and 2015, JME constructed three bulk carriers at Yangzhou Dayang Shipyard, the predecessor of New Dayang Shipbuilding.
Following Sumec Marine’s restructuring of New Dayang Shipbuilding, JME placed orders twice more in April 2023 and June 2024, signing contracts for three new CROWN63PLUS bulk carriers. Two vessels have already been successfully delivered, with both parties enjoying a smooth collaboration.
This contract signing marks the third collaboration between JME and New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Sumec Marine, fully demonstrating JME’s high level of trust in the CROWN brand and New Dayang Shipbuilding.
