China’s Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding Launches Singapore Unit, Secures $150M Bulk Carrier Order

On October 20, Jiangsu Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding held its grand unveiling ceremony at Suntec City in Singapore. Ding Hai, Vice President of Soho Holdings Group, unveiled the plaque and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Ding Hai emphasized that amid the increasingly fierce international market competition, enterprises’ “going global” strategy has become a crucial initiative to address the challenges of the current international situation and open up new prospects. He stressed that taking the establishment of overseas companies as an opportunity, the company should drive the coordinated transformation of intelligent innovation and shipbuilding, so as to form new global competitive advantages.

Firstly, it is essential to pursue excellence in business operations, continuously improve service quality and operational standards, and build a high-quality brand for the Group’s overseas business. Secondly, efforts should be made to accelerate the substantive operation, firmly establish a foothold in the local Singaporean market, proactively integrate into the business environment of Singapore and other overseas regions, actively expand cooperative partnerships, and steadily advance incremental business. Thirdly, the company must set long-term goals, base itself in Singapore with a global perspective, continuously explore new business growth drivers, and strive to develop the overseas company into a core pillar supporting the Group’s overseas business development.

Zhou An, Party Secretary and Chairman of Soho Holdings Group, outlined the group’s business layout and development achievements. He stated that Singapore is a world-renowned financial and shipping center. Soho Chuangke Overseas Co., Ltd. will leverage its resource advantages, focusing on core businesses such as ship trade and shipping services, and strive to build a professional overseas trading platform. Going forward, the company will leverage its overseas subsidiaries as a link to deepen exchanges and cooperation with various partners, achieve resource sharing, complement each other’s strengths, and create more opportunities for win-win cooperation.

Notably, on the same day, Soho Chuangke’s overseas subsidiary reached cooperation agreements with several prominent shipping companies. On-site, it signed a cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Shipping (Singapore) for a 63,500 DWT bulk carrier, totaling US$150 million. Discussions were also held with Rongtua Shipping (Singapore) and Deyun Shipping (Singapore) regarding future newbuilding collaborations, thoroughly exploring avenues for deepening mutual partnerships.

The establishment of Suhao Chuangke overseas subsidiary marks a milestone in the company’s development journey, signifying a crucial step toward internationalization. Moving forward, Soho Chuangke Shipbuilding will adopt a more open approach, collaborating with global partners to jointly advance the high-quality development of the shipping industry chain. This initiative will inject new momentum into the Belt and Road Initiative, contributing to the establishment of a more open, inclusive, cooperative, and mutually beneficial global economic landscape.
