China’s JSHT to Build Two 85,000 DWT Bulk Carriers for Huayuan Star Shipping

Recently, Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment Co.,Ltd.(JSHT) has successfully won the bid for the construction of two 85,000 DWT bulk carriers for Huayuan Star Shipping.

According to the tender notice, the tenderers for the two 85,000 DWT bulk carriers project of Huayuan Star Shipping are Huayuan Star Shipping and its subsidiary Huayuan Star Shipping (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., and the project funds are self-raised.

JSHT will be responsible for the design, construction, assembly, testing, inspection, sea trials and delivery of the vessel, as well as maintenance and related technical documentation and services.

So far this year, JSHT has only announced one new order: two 64,000 DWT bulk carriers for Ningbo Shipping. This order is an option under the shipbuilding contract signed by both parties on November 26, 2024.

According to its official website, JSHT, established in 2008, is located in Nantong’s Rugao Port. It covers an area of ​​over 500,000 square meters and features a 660-meter outfitting quay. JSHT boasts a 400-meter by 50-meter dry dock equipped with a 300-ton and 1,100-ton gantry cranes, two 3,272-ton cranes, and a 100,000-ton outfitting quay equipped with two 4,075-ton cranes.

The facility is equipped with major production workshops including a steel plate pretreatment workshop, a cutting workshop, a block assembly workshop, a pipe fabrication workshop, and a painting workshop, covering a total area of 100,000 square meters. It also has more than 1,000 sets of various modern production equipment.
