On August 25, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding signed the delivery contract for the 174,000 cbm large LNG carrier “FAT’H AL KHAIR” built for QatarEnergy. The vessel will set sail for operation in the near future.
The FAT’H AL KHAIR is a fifth-generation Changheng-series LNG carrier, independently designed, developed, and built by Hudong-Zhonghua. It is also the 52nd LNG carrier built by Hudong-Zhonghua. Completed in just 8 months at the terminal, it has set the record for the shortest terminal construction cycle of any LNG carrier in the QatarEnergy project. Through its exceptional construction achievements, Hudong-Zhonghua has established the QatarEnergy project as a global benchmark for green shipping equipment.
Six vessels in the QatarEnergy Project series have already been put into operation. Among them, the AL MAS’HABIYYAH, which was signed and delivered by Hudong-Zhonghua last month, has completed its first voyage. The shipowner praised the excellent quality and outstanding performance of the vessels built by Hudong-Zhonghua.
