China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) Delivers First 63,500 DWT Eco-Friendly Bulk Carrier to NASCO

On July 31, China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) held a ship delivery ceremony for the first 63,500 DWT bulk carrier “Jinyuanmen” built for Nanjing Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. (NASCO). This vessel is the first of four 63,500 DWT bulk carriers built for the shipowner.

The newly delivered “Jinyuanmen” bulk carrier features the latest design and complies with the latest international conventions, rules, and regulations. Its EEDI meets IMO Phase III requirements, making it a safe, efficient, low-energy, and environmentally friendly bulk carrier.

The vessel is capable of carrying grain, coal, iron ore, steel coils, certain hazardous goods covered by the IMSBC regulations and other dry bulk cargoes. It can also carry deck cargo and boasts a large deadweight and cargo hold capacity. Furthermore, the vessel is equipped with four cranes, enhancing its cargo versatility.

The commissioning of this new vessel will further enhance NASCO’s competitiveness.

The shipbuilder stated that the successful delivery of this vessel is not only a new achievement in the joint implementation of China’s “Maritime Power” strategy, but also serves as a vivid example of China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Nanjing) putting into practice the mission of China Merchants Industry to “lead with technology and build dreams with craftsmanship.” The company looks forward to further deepening and expanding its collaboration with NASCO in the cutting-edge field of green shipping, and jointly contributing to the goals of achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
