Wuhu Shipyard Secures Major Deal with Poland’s PZM for 45,000-Ton BLUETECH 45 Cargo Ships

On August 1st, Wuhu Shipyard formally signed the Contact for the project of 45,000-ton General Cargo Carriers with Polish shipowner PZM.

PZM is not only the largest state-owned dry bulk shipowner in Europe but also an important operator in the international Great Lakes bulk shipping industry. Its choice to join hands with Wuhu Shipyard is a high recognition of the latter’s comprehensive strength. Taking this signing as an opportunity, both parties will work together, cooperate closely, and make every effort to ensure the smooth progress of the project.

This series of ships adopts the BLUETECH 45 design, with an overall length of 190 meters, a molded width of 31.84 meters, and a molded depth of 16 meters. It features a modern streamlined hull form, which reduces water resistance across the entire speed range. Coupled with the BlueFin propulsion enhancement technology, it significantly improves propulsion efficiency.

Equipped with a high-efficiency propeller with a 6% light load margin, it can dynamically adjust the output according to the actual cargo volume, achieving leading fuel economy and cargo capacity among ships of the same class. This series of ships will become a benchmark model in the Handymax bulk carrier market.
