On July 31, South Korea’s CK Line held a naming ceremony for two 2,700 TEU container ships at Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, which were named “SKY PEACE” and “SKY PRIDE” respectively.
It is understood that the “SKY PEACE” is the first ship in a series of two container ships built by China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC)/Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding for CK Line and was delivered on the same day.
This series of ships is designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI). The total length of the ship is 188.8 meters, the width is 32.2 meters, the depth is 17.1 meters and the deadweight tonnage is approximately 34,900 tons. It is classified by Classification Society KR and has the advantages of large deadweight, low fuel consumption and good economy. The vibration and noise requirements meet the latest standards and can meet the shipping needs of shipowners.
Founded in 1962, CK Line is a well-known Korean shipping company engaged in container and bulk cargo transportation between China, Japan, South Korea and other Asian regions.
The successful delivery of this 2,700 TEU container ship further consolidates Huangpu Wenchong’s leading position in the construction of feeder container ships and marks the fruitful results achieved by CSTC and Huangpu Wenchong in developing the South Korean market.
