L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore, a subsidiary of Indian engineering giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has secured an offshore engineering contract from an undisclosed client in the Middle East.
The contract comprises multiple offshore engineering packages, encompassing the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of offshore structures, as well as the upgrading of existing facilities. The contract value was not disclosed, but Larsen & Toubro described it as a “super-large order” worth over 150 billion rupees (approximately US$1.719 billion).
While the client’s name was not disclosed, the contract announcement comes just days after Saudi Aramco awarded four major contracts to four undisclosed companies for the world’s third-largest oil field expansion project, with a total estimated value of approximately US$5 billion.
In July, Larsen & Toubro also announced plans to invest 10 billion rupees (approximately US$115 million) to expand its shipbuilding complex in Katupalli, Tamil Nadu, to unlock its full production capacity. Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2025 and is expected to be completed within three years.
