CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding Delivers Fourth LNG-Powered 16,000TEU Mega-Container Ship to MSC 161 Days Early

On July 23, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding under Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), delivered a LNG dual-fuel 16,000TEU container ship to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) 161 days ahead of the contract delivery date. This is the fourth ship of the same type delivered by CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding this year.

This ship has a total length of 366 meters, a beam of 51 meters, and a draft of 30.2 meters. It can carry 16,196 standard containers, including 1,800 refrigerated containers. Its loading capacity, speed, fuel consumption, and other performance and economic indicators are all at the leading level in the industry.

During the shipbuilding process, CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding maintained its focus on critical production phases including “dock block erection efficiency, wharf commissioning acceleration, and sea trial process optimization,” while implementing comprehensive lean management. This approach resulted in significant breakthroughs in hull completion rate at launching, LNG bunkering cycle time, and overall construction duration.
