Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has acquired a 75,000 DWT Aframax tanker from a Greek shipowner, according to ship broker Bancosta. The order value is US$55 million and is scheduled to be delivered in mid-2027.

It is reported that this is the fourth new shipbuilding order announced by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding this year. The previous three shipbuilding contracts totaled 6+4 new ships, including 2+2 4400TEU container ships for Thailand’s RCL, 2+2 3000TEU container ships for Vietnam’s Hai An Transport and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company (HAIANTS), and 2 3000 DWT bulk carriers for Greece’s Lepta Shipping.

According to an announcement released by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, the total value of the first six confirmed orders is US$290 million. As of May 22, 2025, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has orders of 8.73 million compensated gross tonnage(CGT, 230 ships) with an order value of US$23.19 billion (about RMB 166.9 billion) and delivery dates scheduled until 2030. Clean energy ship orders account for about 74%, covering multiple ship types such as container ships, bulk carriers, gas carriers and oil tankers.

With the increasing number of orders and the increasing proportion of clean energy ships, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding is actively expanding its production capacity. The Yangzi Hongyuan Green High-tech Clean Energy Ship Manufacturing Base project, which Yangzijiang Shipbuilding invested about RMB 3 billion to build, has officially started. After the project is completed, it will become the main base for the group to build green clean energy ship orders.

In addition, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has completed its investment in Zhoushan Tsuneishi Shipbuilding. Zhoushan Tsuneishi Shipbuilding has become a joint venture company in which Yangzijiang Shipbuilding holds a 34% stake.
