TMC Compressors, a Norwegian supplier of marine and offshore compressed air systems, recently announced via its website that it has signed a contract with Jiangnan Shipyard to supply marine compressed air systems for two 90,000 cbm Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) ordered by Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS).

Under the contract, TMC will deliver a complete marine compressed air system, including compressors for both control and service air, to each of the two VLACs.
The compressors are based on TMC’s own design, which is developed solely for marine and offshore use.
The two VLACs will each have a capacity of 90,000 cubic metres. According to media reports, the vessels employ a next-generation low-resistance hull design and is equipped with an LPG dual-fuel propulsion system that can reduce approximately 20% of CO2 emissions and about 99% of SOx emissions compared to traditional fuel-powered systems.
TMC has not disclosed the value of its contract with Chinese shipbuilder Jiangnan Shipyard.
