Shandong Xinneng Shipbuilding Secures LOIs for 29 New Energy Vessels in Landmark Deal

On June 11, Shandong Xinneng Shipbuilding and Jining Tianhe Dahai Supply Chain successfully signed four letters of intent for ship construction. The two parties jointly determined that Shandong Xinneng Shipbuilding would design and build 29 inland new energy intelligent transport ships for Tianhe Dahai Supply Chain Company.

It is reported that the four letters of intent for ship construction include 29 ships, including 10 73-meter LNG-powered combination carriers, 10 73-meter pure electric-powered combination carriers, 4 73-meter methanol-powered combination carriers, and 5 90-meter LNG-powered container ships. According to the agreement, the two parties will give full play to their advantages in various fields, establish a strategic communication mechanism, and further deepen cooperation in the fields of shipbuilding, trade, logistics, supply chain technology services, etc.

It is understood that as a new force in domestic inland new energy ships, Xinneng Shipbuilding can build large-scale batches of 2,000-5,000-ton inland new energy ships. Excluding the above-mentioned intention orders, a total of 168 ships have been signed, including 4 orders for Zijin Mining Group’s Tanzania project and 1 ship for CMA CGM of France; 42 new energy ships have been started and 12 ships have been delivered.

At present, Xinneng Shipbuilding has comprehensively built digital workshops and intelligent factories, focused on improving the automation and intelligence level of ship production, and accelerated the layout of new tracks of “gasification canal”, “electrification canal” and “hydrogenation canal”. This signing has laid a solid foundation for Xinneng Shipbuilding to expand the inland new energy ship market.
