ONE Completes CEO Succession: Till Ole Barrelet Succeeds Jeremy Nixon as New Chief Executive

On July 1, Ocean Network Express (ONE) officially entered a new phase of development as Till Ole Barrelet formally succeeded the company’s founder, Jeremy Nixon, as CEO.

On February 25, 2026, ONE initiated a leadership succession plan; in May, Barrelet joined the company as CEO-designate to prepare for the management transition; and on July 1, he officially assumed the role of CEO, while company founder Jeremy Nixon transitioned to the position of Senior Advisor.

ONE was established eight years ago—in April 2018—amidst a wave of consolidation in the shipping industry; it was jointly founded by Japan’s three major shipping giants—NYK Line, MOL, and K Line—and is known for its distinctive bright pink branding.

At its inception, ONE’s initial fleet stood at 1.5 million TEU; during Jeremy Nixon’s tenure, its capacity grew to approximately 2.1 million TEU—comprising over 260 vessels—with an additional 1.15 million TEU under construction, establishing it as the world’s sixth-largest container shipping company.

Barrelet possesses over 20 years of experience in the shipping and logistics industry and previously served as CEO of Emirates Shipping Line; he holds deep expertise in vessel ownership, financing, and container shipping, as well as in trade development across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
