On July 3, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd (CSTC) signed a contract with Hong Kong-based EGPN BULK CARRIER (EGPN) for the construction of two “SWAN”-class 1,900-TEU container ships.

According to the first-half operating results released by Huangpu Wenchong, the “SWAN” series has secured cumulative new orders for nearly 30 vessels, with its product portfolio expanding gradually from feeder container ships to medium-sized container ships. In the first half of the year, the company continued to hold the top global market share in new orders for feeder container ships.
The “SWAN” 1900 TEU vessel, independently developed by Huangpu Wenchong, has become a flagship product in the global feeder container ship sector through its outstanding loading efficiency, excellent port adaptability, and remarkable green and energy-efficient performance, and is widely deployed on major feeder routes. Since its launch in 2020, this vessel type has undergone continuous iterations and optimizations, winning the favor of an increasing number of leading shipowners thanks to its superior quality.
