DACKS Delivers Post-Spring Festival First 82,000 DWT Green Intelligent Bulk Carrier

On March 11, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS) successfully delivered the first 82,000 DWT bulk carrier (Hull No. DE166) following the Spring Festival holiday.

As the latest generation of DACKS’ green intelligent bulk carriers, the DE166 vessel combines dual advantages of energy efficiency and environmental protection with high-efficiency loading capabilities. It vividly demonstrates the company’s core strengths and meticulous craftsmanship in the research, development, and construction of intelligent and green vessels.

Throughout the construction process, the shipowner’s resident supervision team and Lloyd’s Register conducted rigorous oversight. All parties collaborated to overcome challenges and pursued excellence, ensuring the vessel’s quality and delivery milestones were met with high standards and efficiency.

Upon entering service, the new vessel will further enhance the competitiveness of the shipowner’s fleet, supporting its steady and long-term development in the international dry bulk shipping market.

It is understood that this vessel marks the first vessel built by DACKS in collaboration with a leading Greek shipping enterprise—a company boasting decades of deep-rooted industry experience. Prior to this project, the shipowner had established a strong cooperative relationship with Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering (NACKS) and officially forged a partnership with DACKS in December 2023. The successful delivery of the DE166 stands as the first significant outcome of the mutual trust and win-win cooperation between the two parties, while also laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction and delivery of two additional vessels in the same series.
