Norwegian shipowner Edda Wind announced that it has signed an agreement to sell its entire fleet of Service Operation Vessels (SOVs) and Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs), including vessels under construction.

According to documents filed with the relevant stock exchange by Edda Wind, the company’s fleet will be spun off for acquisition by two buyers: North Star UK, a portfolio company of private equity firm Partners Group, and an affiliate of Navigare Capital.
Since 2015, Edda Wind has specialized in providing dedicated SOV and CSOV services for the offshore wind sector. The company currently owns and operates seven vessels, including one SOV and six CSOVs, with three additional CSOVs under construction.
In June 2025, Edda Wind was taken private and delisted by a consortium comprising Geveran Trading under John Fredriksen, EPS Ventures under Idan Ofe, and Wilhelmsen New Energy.
Prior to this fleet sale, Edda Wind had already sold two SOVs built in 2022 to Danish operator Esvagt in December 2025. The two vessels were named “Breeze Enabler” and “Brint Enabler” respectively.
Edda Wind stated that the completion of this fleet sale is subject to the fulfillment of inspection and other customary conditions. If the transaction is completed, it will mean that Edda Wind will completely relinquish its status as a shipowner.
