Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose (Private) Limited (KGTML), a key facilitator of trade and logistics in Pakistan, has entered into a significant agreement with GENMA, a leading global equipment supplier, for the delivery of advanced port handling machinery. Under the contract, GENMA will supply four Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHC) and two Ship Loaders, to enhance operational efficiency and throughput at Karachi Port.

The introduction of this modern, automated equipment will substantially boost the terminal’s vessel loading and unloading capabilities, enabling it to service larger bulk carriers, reduce turnaround time, minimize cargo loss, and improve overall safety and environmental performance. Once operational, the systems will help lower demurrage costs, increase supply chain reliability, and strengthen Pakistan’s export competitiveness in international markets.
Mr. Khurram Aziz Khan, CEO of KGTML, remarked, “This partnership marks a pivotal step in KGTML’s evolution into a next-generation multipurpose terminal. With GENMA’s high-capacity MHCs and Ship Loaders, we will be able to offer faster, safer, and more reliable cargo handling services, reinforcing Pakistan’s role in global trade corridors.”

GENMA expressed honor in supporting KGTML and AD Ports Group’s vision for a modern, export-oriented logistics hub in South Asia. “This agreement goes beyond a transaction—it embodies a shared commitment to growth and a bridge between our strategic goals,” stated a GENMA representative. “We are dedicated to providing comprehensive end-to-end support, from high-performance equipment and training to timely maintenance and technical upgrades, ensuring we remain a reliable, long-term partner.”
The project will position Karachi Gateway Terminal as Pakistan’s first dedicated bulk export facility and a model of automated port operations, driving sustained trade growth and economic development in the region.
