At the beginning of the New Year, Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (ROC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Rainbow Heavy Industries, has received a series of exciting updates on the SPP40 Platform Supply Vessels meticulously constructed for CDB Leasing and SPEC. The first vessel, N1053, has been successfully named and delivered; the fourth vessel, N1056, has been smoothly launched; and the second vessel, N1054, is about to commence sea trials. The simultaneous advancement of these three key milestones marks a triumphant start for 2026, showcasing ROC’s ascent to new heights in the offshore vessel sector.
I. Successful Naming and Delivery of the First Vessel N1053
On the special solar term of “Dahan” (Major Cold), as winter’s charm fades and spring’s breath begins, a grand naming and delivery ceremony was held for the first SPP40 Platform Supply Vessel, N1053. This marked the vessel “CL SPEC LISA,” embodying immense dedication and wisdom, poised to embark on a new voyage. Nearly a hundred guests, including clients, company representatives, and partners, gathered to witness this milestone moment.
At the ceremony, Mr. Shao Xiwu, General Manager of ROC, extended his gratitude on behalf of Rainbowco to all distinguished guests for their presence and acknowledged the hard work of all participants involved in the vessel’s construction. He stated that the close collaboration with CDB Leasing, SPEC, and Bureau Veritas (BV) reflects ROC’s determination and commitment to deepening its expertise in the offshore engineering field.
Mr. Chen Hong, Senior Expert and General Manager of the Ship Business Division at CDB Leasing, emphasized that the timely completion of the first vessel is a significant achievement of the collaborative efforts from all parties. He expressed confidence that the vessel will carry forward everyone’s expectations and contribute robustly to promoting the high-quality development of the marine engineering equipment industry.
Mr. Chen Biao, Vice President of Bureau Veritas (BV) China Region, affirmed ROC’s construction capabilities and highly commended the vessel’s manufacturing quality and technical performance.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, attendees witnessed Ms. Lisa, serving as the godmother, naming the new vessel “CL SPEC LISA” and bestowing upon it the blessings of “braving the waves and sailing steadily into the distance.” Following the naming and delivery ceremony, the vessel set sail on its new journey, carrying wishes for a safe and smooth voyage.
II. Smooth Launch of the Fourth Vessel N1056
Under the close attention and joint witness of all parties concerned, the fourth SPP40 Platform Supply Vessel, N1056, was smoothly launched. This signifies the project’s official entry into a new and crucial implementation phase.
The project team fully absorbed and leveraged the construction experience from the first three vessels, optimizing and upgrading the construction processes. They meticulously controlled every critical phase, including steel procurement and inspection, hull welding and assembly, and equipment installation and commissioning. This approach effectively resolved numerous technical construction challenges, ensuring build quality while further enhancing construction efficiency, demonstrating ROC’s mature capabilities in batch construction and exquisite craftsmanship.
III. The Second Vessel N1054 Set for Sea Trials
Following the successful delivery of the first vessel, the second SPP40 Platform Supply Vessel, N1054, is about to set sail to commence its sea trial journey, laying a solid foundation for subsequent delivery and market expansion.
