MSC Strengthens Eco-Friendly Fleet with 10th LNG Dual-Fuel Ship from Yangzijiang Shipbuilding

On the morning of November 3, the MSC GRACE, the tenth LNG dual-fuel 16,000 TEU container ship built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group’s Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), set sail for operational deployment.

The vessel has an overall length of approximately 366 meters, a length between perpendiculars of 355.4 meters, a beam of 51 meters, a design draft of 14.5 meters and a structural draft of 17 meters.

The vessel is equipped with energy-saving devices such as shaft generators, air lubrication systems, rudder balls and twisted blades. Its dual-fuel main engine employs ECOEGR optimization, enabling compliance with Tier III emission standards while further reducing fuel consumption.

Additionally, like the eighth vessel delivered earlier, this vessel is equipped with a wind deflector system. This feature effectively reduces wind resistance during navigation, thereby lowering fuel consumption and reducing carbon emissions. It contributes to further advancing the green and efficient operation of the vessel.

It is understood that the vessel commenced construction in early October 2024; laid keel for outfitting in early April 2025, launched at the end of July, and successfully completed sea trials in mid-October, with all test results meeting design specifications. The naming ceremony was held on October 8, and the delivery document was signed on October 29.
