Recently, Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding (a subsidiary of CSSC) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) jointly held the naming and delivery ceremony for the first vessel “SERIFOS I” of the “Haijing” series 85,000 DWT bulk carriers at its Longxue shipyard. The vessel was built for Sea Traders, a bulk carrier company owned by Greek shipowner George J. Procopiou.

The 85,000 DWT bulk carrier “SERIFOS I” delivered this time is the first fully independently designed bulk carrier by Huangpu Wenchong. With an overall length of 228.9 meters, a beam of 36 meters, and a depth of 20.15 meters, the vessel is equipped with seven cargo holds, hydraulic hatch covers, a shaft generator, a scrubber, and other equipment to meet the diverse transportation needs of ore, coal, and grain. Advanced shipbuilding technologies such as intelligent welding robots, a digital dock, and simulated loading were also utilized during the construction of this vessel.

There are a total of 8 vessels in this series, which have now entered the rhythmic production stage. The second vessel in the series will be completed and delivered in November.
