Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Hands Over First Aframax for Cape Shipping

On September 3, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding – a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) – signed and delivered the first 114,000 DWT Aframax product tanker “CAPE TAINARON” to Greece’s CAPE SHIPPING.

“CAPE TAINARON” is the first 114,000 DWT Aframax product tanker built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Greece’s CAPE SHIPPING. Classed by ABS, the vessel was independently designed by the shipbuilder.

The vessel has an overall length of 249.95 meters, a beam of 44.0 meters, a depth of 21.2 meters, a design draft of 13.5 meters, and a design speed of 14.5 knots. It is powered by a MAN B&W 6G60ME-C10.5 main engine and meets Tier III emissions standards.

This successful collaboration marks a new chapter of mutual progress and win-win results for both parties.
