China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard Delivers 3rd 82,000 DWT Bulk Carrier to Norway’s Sea Tankers 5 Days Ahead of Schedule

On August 24, the third 82,000 DWT bulk carrier built by China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard for Norway’s Sea Tankers successfully departed the port. The vessel will soon be officially put into service.

The vessel departed five days ahead of schedule and completed its launching cycle 29 days earlier than the first vessel.

During the sea trial feedback processing stage, China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard quickly sorted out various feedback opinions based on construction experience, refined and implemented a closed-loop processing mechanism for the entire process, and actively coordinated and allocated human and material resources to fully promote problem rectification. Through efficient collaboration, it ensured the vessel’s high-quality completion on schedule and ultimately achieved early departure.

It is reported that Sea Tankers has ordered a total of four 82,000 DWT bulk carriers. The first two vessels delivered earlier have been validated through actual ship operations, and their excellent navigational stability and outstanding fuel efficiency have earned high praise from the shipowner.

The successful delivery of the third vessel of the same type not only further deepens the strategic partnership with the shipowner, but also fully demonstrates the shipbuilder’s mass production and rhythmic construction capabilities in the mainstream medium-sized bulk carrier field.
