Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (Dajin Heavy Industry), a subsidiary of Bestway Marine & Energy Technology, has won a new order.

According to Clarkson data, British shipowner/operator Carisbrooke Shipping has signed a contract with Dajin Heavy Industry for the construction of 3+3 6,600 DWT general cargo vessels, which are expected to be delivered in the second half of 2027. The value of the order has not been disclosed.

It is reported that Carisbrooke’s last order for a new vessel was placed in July 2023, with the Dutch shipyard Thecla Bodewes constructing a 7,280 DWT diesel-electric general cargo vessel for the company. Earlier this year, Carisbrooke secured financing support from Germany’s KfW IPEX-Bank for two 7,700 DWT general cargo vessels being built by Thecla Bodewes Shipyard. All three vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2026.

Currently, Carisbrooke operates a fleet of nearly 30 dry cargo vessels and multi-purpose vessels.

For Otsu Heavy Industries, this is the third shipbuilding contract announced by the shipyard recently. Combined with the previous two orders, it has secured a total of 15+3 vessels.

On August 13, Bestway Marine & Energy Technology announced that Dajin Heavy Industry has signed a contract with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) to build six 7,350 DWT multi-purpose general cargo vessels. The hull numbers are DJHC6171, DJHC6172, DJHC6173, DJHC6174, DJHC6175 and DJHC6176, with construction scheduled to begin on June 30, 2026, and to be delivered and put into operation from September 2027 to December 2028.

In addition, Dajin Heavy Industry recently announced that it has signed a general contract for a series of 6 65-meter Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, marking new progress in the shipyard’s expansion in the offshore engineering market.

Public records show that Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. was established on December 24, 2012, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bestway Marine & Energy Technology, with a registered capital of 500 million yuan.

The shipyard has the full industrial chain capabilities and conditions for the design, testing, and construction of special vessels. Its main business is the design and construction of four major product lines: LNG-powered vessel series, offshore engineering platforms and auxiliary vesselss, special transport merchant vessels, and government service vessels and military auxiliary vessels.
